Youths win pro-life themed art, essay awards

This year’s Respect Life essay and art contestants pose with their winning entries March 25 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception downtown. The winners stood with clergy and were honored for their work that expressed their pro-life convictions. First-place art winners are eighth-grader Dylan Devlin of St. Vincent de Paul School in Denver, 10th-grader Hope Hecker of Heritage High School in Littleton and seventh-grader Adrian Quintero of St. Vincent de Paul School. Second-place winners are sixth-grader James Alaimo of St. Joseph School in Fort Collins and eighth-grader Jack Staib of St. Vincent de Paul. Third-place art winners are eighth-grader Elizabeth Magolske of St. Vincent de Paul and seventh-grader Megan Hilbert of Blessed Sacrament School. First-place essay winners are ninth-grader Mitchell Brinton of Holy Family High School in Broomfield, seventh-grader Joseph O’Hagan of St. Vincent de Paul School and sixth-grader Brigid McNamara of Good Shepherd School. Second-place essay winner is eighth-grader Ben Beauvais of St. Joseph School in Fort Collins.
