Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Another school year has come to a close and we would be remiss if we didn’t honor the hundreds of high school graduates who graduated from one of the Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Denver. Congratulations to all the graduates, and may the Lord bless you richly as you enter the next chapter of your lives!

Congratulations to the Class of 2024, graduating from the Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Denver! As you embark on this next adventure, may the Lord continue to illuminate your way! May you remain close to Jesus through prayer and the sacraments to be joyful witnesses to the Gospel in the world. May you come to know God’s particular love for you as his sons and daughters, so that all might be rescued and have abundant life, for the glory of the Father! Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila

“The class of 2024 is a remarkable group of young persons for a number of reasons, but primest of them is that they have a unique and lasting kind of camaraderie forged in the uniqueness of their circumstances. Not only did they have courage to go out when so many were fearful in a year of pandemic, but they as mere freshmen had the fortitude to join our brand new high school. They were those so elected by Providence to become the first to graduate from four years of our programming, and they rose to the call accordingly. We are immensely proud of these incredible men and women who, in a world bent on deracination, have by their profound desire for the pursuit of Truth and their love of Him who is all truth have helped to institute an institution. May God bless you, dear ones! We love you ardently and will pray for you always.” Blaise Hockel Headmaster

The defining characteristic of our class is the will to keep trying. Like St. Ignatius in those warm mountains, walking through the lush forests of Spain, not knowing exactly where his feet will take him, not knowing exactly what lies in the next bend, we do not know which steps have taken us the furthest; what stumbling stones impeded us the most. We don’t know what comforting word or pat on the back helped each other the most, but what we do know is that, like St. Ignatius, we’re here before the altar. As we stand here, our time at Regis Jesuit behind us–the thousands of steps taken together and the infinite trails of the future before us—I pray that we can say and continue to say that every lunch in the quad, every JUG served, every laugh shared, every game won, every test failed, every hand raised in class, every time we were called on, every application submitted, that every thought and that every word and that every action was dedicated to the greater glory of God. Paul Montville

Time and time again, we say “I love you” in the language of everyday things. It is important to remember that these “I love yous” are not confined to this school but something to continue everywhere we go. Like all our meaningful experiences here, these bright moments, these selfless actions, take on a new meaning when they live past our time at Regis Jesuit, and move beyond the 85 acres that make up our campus. Every day you open my eyes to see God’s presence around me. If God is love, and we know He is, then God must also be the bridge between us. As people who have been privileged to be part of such an accepting community, it is now our responsibility to continue building that bridge outside of these walls.

The brilliance of our graduates, the sacrifices they’ve made in pursuit of a more hopeful future, and the determination they’ve exhibited over four years inspires everyone who has accompanied them during their time on Utica Street. We pray in gratitude for all those who choose to invest in our students, and who work with them to make the impossible possible. Michael O’Hagan President
