Seniors graduating from area Catholic high schools will dress in cap and gown over the course of the next two weeks to accept their diplomas from the schools that have helped prepare them for their futures. Among the Catholic high schools in the Denver Archdiocese, both archdiocesan and private, 887 students will say farewell to classmates and teachers before moving on. These students combined to earn $78.4 million in scholarships.
Arrupe Jesuit High School The 67 seniors of the class of 2014 will graduate at a ceremony 10 a.m. May 30 held at the Denver school. Together the students earned more than $5.1 million in merit-based scholarships to attend colleges locally and abroad including Regis University, Colorado School of Mines, Georgetown University and Creighton University. The school announced several students who were named Daniels Fund Scholars, Gates Millennium Scholars and Greenhouse Scholars.
Holy Family High School The Broomfield school will celebrate the 137 seniors graduating this year at a ceremony 10 a.m. May 22 at the school’s stadium. The senior class earned $13.5 million in merit-based scholarships and will attend colleges including Benedictine College, Marquette University, Union College, University of San Diego and the University of Portland.
Bishop Machebeuf High School The school’s 2014 graduating class will participate in a commencement ceremony 10 a.m. May 18 at the Denver school. Its 73 graduating seniors received an accumulated $3.6 million in scholarships to attend colleges including California Polytechnic State University, Florida State University, Colorado School of Mines and Technology, Loyola Marymount, and the University of St. Thomas.
Mullen High School The 158 members of Mullen’s senior class will receive their diplomas at a ceremony 9 a.m. May 24 at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Denver. Together they received more than $16 million in scholarship awards to attend 39 different universities including Catholic colleges and universities, three Ivy League schools, the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Coast Guard Academy. The Class of 2014 has been accepted to 22 of the top 50 U.S. News & World Report colleges and universities.
Regis Jesuit High School Girls Division The Girls Division of the Aurora high school will hold their commencement ceremony 7 p.m. May 19 at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The class of young women had 151 graduates this year who amassed a total of $20.5 million in scholarship money. Colleges they will be attending include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell University and New York University.
Regis Jesuit High School Boys Division The Boys Division of the Jesuit prep school will celebrate graduation at 9:30 a.m. May 18 at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The 226 total graduates, combining for an estimated $11.4 million in scholarship dollars, will move on to a myriad of colleges including Dartmouth College, University of Notre Dame and California Polytechnic State University.
St. Mary’s Academy St. Mary’s Academy will celebrate the graduation of 65 seniors from the girls’ school at commencement exercises 10 a.m. May 17 on the Englewood campus at 4545 S. University Blvd. Eighty percent of the young women who attend St. Mary’s received scholarship funds that translated to $8.3 million in merit scholarships. Graduates will be heading to colleges including Colorado School of Mines, Carleton College, Loyola Marymount University, Pitzer, College, Tufts University, University of Notre Dame and Villanova University.
