11 bits of saintly wisdom from Padre Pio

When we think of some of the biggest saints from the last century, Padre Pio looms large for many. His “spiritual children” are constantly learning from his example and growing closer to the Lord. On his feast day, consider some pieces of wisdom he shared with the Church during his lifetime!

Happy feast day! St. Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for us!

“It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do so without the Holy Mass.”

“Our Lord loves you and loves you tenderly; and if He does not let you feel the sweetness of His love, it is to make you more humble and abject in your own eyes.”

“May the Mother of Jesus and our Mother always smile on your spirit, obtaining for it, from her Most Holy Son, every heavenly blessing.”

“Yes, I love the cross, the cross alone, because I always see it behind Jesus’ shoulders.”

“Even if a room is very clean and the door is closed so that no one can enter, the dust will nevertheless collect there and it will require dusting.”

“My past, O Lord, to your mercy; my present, to your love; my future to your providence.”

“Lord God of my heart, You alone know and see all my troubles.”

“Stop entertaining those vain fears.  Remember it is not feeling which constitutes guilt but the consent to such feelings.  Only the free will is capable of good or evil.  But when the will sighs under the trial of the tempter and does not will what is presented to it, there is not only no fault but there is no virtue.”

“Jesus is with you even when you don’t feel His presence. He is never so close to you as He is during your spiritual battles. He is always there, close to you, encouraging you to fight your battle courageously. He is there to ward off the enemy’s blows so that you may not be hurt.”

“Love our Lady and make her loved; always recite the Rosary and recite it as often as possible.”

“Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.”
