“Who do you say that I am:” Office of Black Catholic Ministry to Host Annual Black Catho

A question that resounds through the ages: “Who do you say that I am?”

What Jesus once asked his apostles in the Gospel, he asks every believer. Our personal answer to this fundamental question is key for discovering our God-given identity and living the Christian life to the fullest.

It is this very question upon which scores from around the archdiocese will reflect in this year’s Black Catholic retreat, taking place April 19-21 at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House in Sedalia.

Led by Father Reginald Norman of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut, the retreat will provide participants with a weekend of prayer, fellowship and private reflection, with lessons for examining and strengthening their true identity in Christ.

Originally from North Carolina, Father Norman is the Vicar of the Apostolate of Black Catholics for the Diocese of Bridgeport, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Wilton, Connecticut, and the newly elected Vice President of the National Black Catholic Congress.

“We are honored to have Father Reggie here in Colorado,” Kateri Joda Williams, Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministry at the Archdiocese of Denver, told the Denver Catholic. “His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and participants will leave the retreat feeling refreshed, uplifted and affirmed.”

“All are welcome to attend this retreat, as Father’s lessons for examining and strengthening our true identity in Christ are for everyone,” Williams continued. “I encourage all to come join us in the beautiful and serene setting of Sedalia for what will be an inspirational and enriching experience!”
