Here are films and shows coming to Netflix in January, as well as a few things you might want to check out before they leave.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, PG-13 – Captain Jack Sparrow returns in the fifth Pirates movie with another adventure, competing against Captain Salazar to find the Trident of Poseidon with the help of a beautiful astronomer and a young man in the navy.
Apollo 13, PG – Based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission, astronauts battle for survival after an oxygen tank explodes, thwarting their mission.
Batman movies, PG-13 – Batman, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins, Batman Forever and Batman Returns are all headed to Netflix for your fix of the Dark Knight.
King Kong, PG-13 – Peter Jackson’s remake follows a movie director and his crew filming in a remote island, where an actress is whisked away by the monstrous ape.
Midnight in Paris, PG-13 – A frustrated writer travels back in time every night at midnight to visit famous artists and writers of earlier decades, exploring themes of nostalgia and modernism.
National Treasure, PG (Family-friendly) – A historian and code-breaker searches for a rumored treasure dating back to the founding of the U.S., and needs to steal the Declaration of Independence to find it.
The Shawshank Redemption, R – An innocent man sentenced to prison for life for the murders of his wife and lover forms a friendship with a man named Red, experiences the brutality of prison and overcomes it.
The Truman Show, PG – Unbeknownst to him, a man’s life is a TV show that’s broadcast to the world.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, G (Family-friendly) – The 1971 classic starring Gene Wilder takes a turn on Netflix this month.
Cars 3, G (Family-friendly) – A new generation of fast cars pushes Lightning McQueen out of his sport, so he turns for help to compete before his next biggest race.
Leaving:
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, PG (Family-friendly) – A gentle alien becomes stranded on earth and is befriended by a boy named Elliot.
Free Willy, PG (Family-friendly) – A struggling orphan who vandalizes a theme park must work there to make amends; there he meets an Orca named Willy, and the two form a tight bond.
I Am Sam, PG-13 – The story of a mentally-challenged man raising a young daughter with the help of his friends, until the unconventional family setting comes to the attention of a social worker who wants the girl placed in foster care.
Miss Congeniality 1-2, PG-13 – An FBI agent goes undercover at the Miss United States pageant to prevent a group from bombing the event. The sequel is also heading out.
The Boy in Striped Pajamas, PG-13 – World War II as experienced and told through the eyes of two young boys who befriend each other: A son of a Nazi commandant and a Jewish inmate in a concentration camp.
The Parent Trap, PG (Family-friendly) – The remake of the original 1961 film, starring Lindsey Lohan, about twin girls who scheme to get their divorced parents back together.
The Secret Garden, G (Family-friendly) – An orphaned girl is sent to live on her uncle’s estate and discovers new friends and a secret garden.
