Reencounter the Mass: Mass dispensation to be lifted on Pentecost

There is no greater gift than the gift Christ gave the world – himself. A sacrifice that has freed us from the bonds of sin and death, and a sacrifice that is truly present during the Holy and Divine Liturgy.

But the devil is at work when the Holy Sacrifice becomes routine, and Sunday Mass becomes just another item on our weekly to-do list.

As we prepare for Pentecost and and the reinstatement of the obligation to attend Mass, let us reflect on our sacrifices this past Lent, and throughout this pandemic, and ask the Holy Spirit to ignite and guide a renewal of faith in our Archdiocese. You are also invited to join our bishops and the archdiocesan community in a 7-week prayer series in preparation for Pentecost.

For more information on the lifting of the general dispensation, please read a statement from the Bishops of Colorado and accompanying FAQ:

The Reencounter the Mass webpage and the Denver Catholic will continue to be updated during the Easter season with additional reflections, readings, and resources.
