Pray St. Thérèse of Lisieux’s prayer for priests on this World Day of Prayer for the Sanctific

St. Thérèse of Lisieux is known for her deep devotion, her support of vocations and her missionary heart. Though she never left her convent, she was united to faithful around the world, praying for their vocations and intentions and encouraging them to holiness.

Whether a brand-new priest, a veteran pastor or a priest beginning a new assignment next month, we too are invited to hold our priests in prayer.

On this World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, join us in praying her prayer for priests, asking the Lord to bless, guide and sanctify our spiritual fathers and shepherds!

Prayer for Priests

O Jesus, eternal priest, keep your priests within the shelter of your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of your priesthood. Let your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.

Amen.
