Pray for an end to Roe v. Wade at national prayer event

The U.S Supreme Court will soon hear a case that could overturn Roe v. Wade and mark a critical victory against the ongoing scourge of abortion.

On Dec. 1, Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization will be brought before the Supreme Court in what many legal scholars are saying will be the most significant legal test of Roe v. Wade yet. In 1973, Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in all 50 states, and since then, upwards of an estimated 60 million preborn children have been aborted. The issue at the core of the Dobbs case is the constitutionality of Mississippi’s 2018 law banning most abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy.

Given the monumental opportunity this case presents, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is partnering with Orthodox and Protestant church leaders to hold a national online prayer event this Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. Mountain Time. Pray for Dobbs will feature several speakers across denominations, and all are invited to join.

“The most important thing we can do is to bend our knees in supplication to our Lord Jesus Christ, asking for the end to Roe, and to the brutal practice of abortion,” the Pray for Dobbs website states. “This historic online gathering will bring together Christians across denominations. Together, we will pray for a just outcome that protects millions of preborn babies and their mothers.”
