In an atmosphere of joyful celebration, the Mullen High School community gathered last month to dedicate and preview their newly constructed academic building.
With a grand lobby named for Craig Bowman, a Mullen High School alumnus and treasured Denver educator, the new building will be home to 14 classrooms, 3 conference rooms, 3 administrative offices and shared space for students to meet and study.
The dedication was the culminating point of the project, which brought about collaboration between Mullen, Hord Coplan Macht Architects (HCM), JHL Conscructors, the De La Salle Brothers and the larger Mullen High School community.
“This is a special moment in our history, as we take the time to remember and honor our past while building towards our future,” said Raul Cardenas, Jr., President & CEO of Mullen High School. “This new academic building epitomizes the spirit of our founder, who placed so much emphasis on relationships. The relationships created between JHL, HCM, Anser, and most importantly our donors, have been extraordinary and created a building built on faith, trust and care. We have been blessed.”
The school indeed looks towards the future, envisioning a tomorrow that is “bigger and brighter than ever,” as they wrote in a press release detailing the event. “Our hope for the future is more alive, tangible and potent than before. We trust how the Lord is moving in our construction plans, on our campus and in the lives of our faculty, students and parents. We are incredibly grateful to announce the completion of this project and look forward to continuing to build our new future at Mullen High School.”
