Men’s Leadership Summit will ‘spiritually renew’ and ‘equip’ men for today’s

Perhaps you’re not addicted to cocaine as John was… or to pornography… or drink too much for that matter. Maybe you’ve never felt it was impossible to leave old habits behind. Or maybe you have… or know someone who has.

Whatever the case may be, John’s story is a clear example of what God can do when men come together in Christ and walk with each other.

John Edwards is now a renowned Catholic speaker who has helped numerous men encounter the power of Jesus through his testimony and trained many others to build life-changing men’s groups at their parish.

He will be the speaker at the next Catholic Men’s Leadership Summit, which will focus on “How to lead a successful men’s group” and is set to take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Aug. 26. It will be an opportunity for men to experience fellowship, deepen their relationship with Christ and learn how to lead other men to Jesus.

“Men need to come to this event, first, for spiritual renewal. This is going to be a phenomenal event with an incredible speaker who has one of the most powerful conversion stories that I’ve ever heard,” said Dan Donaldson, vice president of Catholic Men’s Leadership Alliance. “Second, for leadership development. We are called to be missionary disciples, to share the Gospel, but that takes equipping. We are going to learn from a man who experienced spiritual renewal, was equipped, and now is equipping men all over North America.”

“Why do you need to be there? Look around. We need men to step up, to stand up and lead other men,” said John Edwards in a special invitation. “Guys, a lot of men are doing something else besides putting Jesus first in their life. We need small groups in parishes, we need field hospitals out there to help men come back into a real and authentic relationship, first and foremost, with Jesus Christ, and with other men.”

John Edwards, founder of Pew Ministries, will be the keynote speaker at the Men’s Leadership Summit Aug. 26.

Founder of Pew Ministries and Just a Guy in the Pew, John has started over 20 men’s groups in parishes just in the last year with the help of his team, and at this summit, he will equip men to know what works and what doesn’t.

“You’re gonna say, ‘How did that guy wound up from here to where he is now leading ministries for men?’ Guys, God can do anything with anybody, and that’s what he wants you to know. And he needs all of us to step up and do the things that he’s called us to do,” Edwards said. “You’re not on your own… We’re going to give you a structure that we’ve used around the country that is helping people start groups that bear fruit that lasts.”

The Catholic Men’s Leadership Summit is a great opportunity for men in any walk of life — for those already active in men’s groups, for those who are struggling, or for those who simply want to grow in their faith.

“We’re all in this together… Dudes need other dudes. Come! You need it, we need you, the Church needs you now more than ever,” Donaldson said. “When we strengthen men, we’ll strengthen families; when we strengthen families, we’ll strengthen the Church; when we strengthen the Church, we’ll transform the culture.”

“And we’re going to feed you breakfast burritos and lunch”, Donaldson concluded.
