Married couples invited to be celebrated at annual Anniversary Mass

The Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries invites all couples that have celebrated or will be celebrating their 20th, 30th, or 50th-plus wedding anniversaries this year to the annual Anniversary Mass.

This year’s Anniversary Mass will take place on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Northglenn. All couples are invited to this unique and meaningful celebration that will have Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila as the main celebrant. Mass will be followed by a special reception.

The Anniversary Mass takes place every year to celebrate couples who have reached a milestone in their marriage and remind them of the love of God and the covenant between them and God. All married couples are welcome to attend this celebration.

“It is always a joy to recognize couples who have achieved or have been in their marriages for 25 years or more, it is a great accomplishment,” said Sandra Morales, Associate Director of Family Ministry. “We know it involves hard work, commitment to God to solve problems and to raise their children. We want to celebrate all that sacrifice, all that love and most important that God is still with us,”

Additionally, newly married couples are invited to witness and be inspired by these marriages.

“We want to invite young couples to witness these remarkable testimonies of marriage which shows us that that yes, you can have a holy marriage, of course you can, with sacrifice, with struggle and fidelity of one another. It is possible. All young couples are cordially invited,” Morales added.

Couples are encouraged to register online before Oct. 1 to be added to the Mass program. However, if you don’t register by the deadline, you’re still welcome to attend the Mass and renew the sacrament of marriage.

“This celebration reminds us of the initial commitment we made with our partner. It is a very significant moment when a man and a woman commit themselves in fidelity, in free and total commitment for their entire lives,” Morales concluded. “When receiving this blessing, we recommit ourselves to move forward. It’s a reminder that this is what we did and now we want to do it again, we are convinced of it.”
