Sorry fellas, this one’s for the ladies! Walking with Purpose, a Catholic women’s apostolate, is coming to the Archdiocese of Denver Jan. 17 for its 2024 WWP LIVE! event series.
Walking with Purpose Founder Lisa Brenninkmeyer’s will give a talk entitled “Hope for Right Now” at St. Thomas More Parish in Centennial at 7 p.m. on January 17.
Lisa Brenninkmeyer will delve into Isaiah 58, contrasting spiritual dehydration with the way Jesus — the Living Water — can refresh us. We’ll identify symptoms of spiritual fatigue and discover practical ways to bring restoration to our souls.
Founded in 2002 by Brenninkmeyer, Walking With Purpose bible studies are active at parishes all over country, including several within the Archdiocese of Denver.
“Walking with Purpose Bible Studies have opened the door for women to move out of isolation into friendship, out of head knowledge of that Catholic faith into genuine relationship with Jesus Christ,” said Mallory Smyth, content creator for Walking With Purpose and occasional Denver Catholic contributor.
“Lisa’s visit to St. Thomas More will be a gift to all who attend,” Smyth continued. “Not only will they be inspired by her ability to relate the scriptures to the details of daily life, but they will have the opportunity to witness what the Lord is doing here, in this city, in the hearts of women everywhere. It is another powerful reminder that women who know Christ, and live in relationship with others are a formidable witness to God in this world.”
If you’re a woman who feels depleted before you even begin the day, feel your energy has sapped by discouragement, and are afraid to hope for more, then this event is for you.
“I’ve had the opportunity to hear Lisa speak three times and on each occasion, I left feeling as if she was speaking directly to me,” said Walking With Purpose member Elizabeth Groonell. “She understands the hearts of women and shares God’s Word in a way that feels new, deeply personal, and relatable. Hearing her speak in person is an opportunity not to be missed!”
