The Archdiocese of Denver announces, with gratitude and sadness, the resignation of Erich Hoffer, President of Bishop Machebeuf High School, effective immediately.
After much prayer and discernment, Erich has decided to step down from his role to move closer to his family in Minnesota, where he will be the new Head of School at St. Hubert Catholic School in Chanhassen.
“While this is a bittersweet exit, I am extremely blessed to have called the Archdiocese of Denver home for five years and to have served as the school leader for Bishop Machebeuf for the last two years. I am proud of what we have accomplished together in the vineyard of the Lord,” said Hoffer.
Through his dedicated leadership and unwavering commitment, Hoffer has exemplified the true spirit of Catholic education. His magnetic personality and authenticity of joyful witness have been true gifts to both Christ the King and Bishop Machebeuf, but he couldn’t do it alone.
“The success we’ve seen at Bishop Machebeuf is primarily because of the often-unheralded work that our faculty and staff are doing daily and the commitment of faithful parents who understand the importance of faithful Christian formation,” Hoffer said, highlighting the vital work of the many teachers, staff, volunteers and parents he has partnered with in the education of Denver Catholic students.
“We will miss Erich for many reasons, not least of which is his support for renewal in our schools and his zeal for evangelization,” added Dr. Kemmery Hill, incoming Superintendent of Denver Catholic Schools. “We are deeply thankful for Erich’s tireless efforts and steadfast devotion. Under his stewardship, Bishop Machebeuf has flourished, nurturing the faith and intellect of countless students.”
“I want to thank the Archdiocese of Denver, our Bishop Machebeuf parents, and the BMHS team for holding steadfast to the idea that each child deserves a true encounter with Jesus Christ. Your belief in our sacred work is why I feel confident that this mission and vision will continue,” said Hoffer.
Bishop Machebeuf High School is actively recruiting for its next President to join the school’s leadership team in the fall.
